Michael Hansson delivers again with another upbeat acoustic rock track that as always inspires one to look at the more positive aspects of life.
Armed with a catchy chorus, some authentic layered background vocals and excellent execution all the way around...simplicity is not lost here. It is in the simplicity, which you will find how truly complex and layered the song really is, beginning with a very cool scat beat which gives the song it overall identity.
As they take center stage, the offbeat rhythms and guitar playing are infectious! Moving from the acoustic to the electric to the piano and the organ, this is a fantastic musical effort that could easily fit onto a Ryan Adams record, back in his heyday.
Lyrically, this is the most upbeat song I have come across in his catalog. Michael just seems to be getting better as we move onward and it is always great to hear an artist blossom before your very ears.
His ability to write so many different types of music and yet find a way to make them all his own, is an absolutely strong aspect going forward. "Shake Like I Shake it" is no exception by any means. The lights are indeed on tonight and they are focused squarely on Michael Hansson and the continued rise of his musical career.
