Michael delivers again with a real flair for showing off his true writing abilities through "Wanted". This time around, he has left the vocal duties to the charming voice of Nadia Iakovidou.
At some points of listening to the song, I thought Michael could (or should) be producing Michelle Branch - he really has a winner here that could be easily absorbed into the ever so popular, female fronted pop-radio machine that runs rampant here in Hollywood.
The production is great on this song, as one section builds to the next while the verses remain simple and purely driven by acoustic guitars.
As we reach the pre-chorus, tender pieces of piano begin to surface and everything just falls into place. Flowing right on into the chorus, each instrument melds into one fantastic sounding, adult contemporary smash that continues to grab you throughout the whole song with its prominent melody line.
It’s obvious that Michael and Nadia make an impressive team, as this song is rotation worthy and should receive some attention if the right people can get their hands on it. I would definitely be very inclined to hear more of these two working together in this fashion, as we may possibly be looking at the beginning of a new Glen Ballard and Alanis Morissette duo.
Overall, my thoughts are clear - will someone please get this song on the radio?! Let's see how high it can climb…
