The softer side of Michael Hansson has been revealed here through “Ana” and it's great to see such range in an artist’s repertoire. Although this song revolves around the possible loss of a great love, Michael is still somehow able to deliver it in a style that is upbeat, which remains consistent throughout his catalog.
Excellent guitar work is always the benchmark for any Michael Hansson piece and "Ana" is no exception. As usual, the acoustic guitar work excels and this time around I really find myself enjoying the lead guitar hook that opens the song as well as some really great fretwork in the closing (although subtle in the mix), that seems to have stuck with me through the day.
The writer delivers his wants and desires passionately, as the lyrics are love driven and follow his journey into a world that centers strictly around "Ana". Not an uncommon theme for a love song, but one that is always effective in getting the message across to the listener.
The production value is a high standard, as always, and I would consider this another notch in the belt of Michael Hansson and his continuous ability to show his various writing styles.
Here's hoping Michael can continue delivering his messages with such heartfelt honesty and that he and “Ana” can somehow kindle an everlasting love.
